BOLD SILVER JEWELLERY FOR THE EVERYDAY BRAVE
Handmade sterling silver jewellery from a garden studio in Hildenborough, just outside Tonbridge in Kent.
Big, raw, unapologetic pieces for people who would rather be memorable than matching.
And if you'd rather make your own, I teach that too.
Every piece starts with the metal, not a sketchbook. I cut, heat and hammer sterling silver and let it lead. I call it instinctive smithing. Push too far and the metal melts. Get it right and you end up with something nobody else is wearing.
THE JEWELLERY
Made by hand by me, Alf, a silversmith with 19 years at the bench.
100% recycled sterling silver.
Hallmarked at the London Assay Office, with my ALF maker’s mark.
One of one. When it’s gone, it’s gone.
SOMETHING MADE JUST FOR YOU
Want a piece that doesn’t exist yet? I make one-of-one commissions: rings, cuffs, pendants, the piece you’ve been describing to people for years. Commissions start from £200, and I’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.
LEARN SILVERSMITHING IN KENT
I’ve taught around 180 people to saw, file, solder and set stones. Most of them arrived never having held a piercing saw. That’s the usual starting point.
